This monthly report for August 2026 is the result of a summary of the Iteka n’ Ijambo weekly bulletins from numbers 538 to 541. This report analyzes the human rights situation. It returns to civil and political rights and economic, social and cultural rights. As well as category rights, particularly children’s rights. This report finally closes with a conclusion and recommendations.
Thus, the situation of civil and political rights for this period covered by this report was illustrated as follows: 28 people were killed including 15 dead bodies found scattered in different places, 2 people tortured, 5 people were victims of GBV, all women raped. Among the victims, 8 are women, including 3 women killed and 5 women raped. 9 people were arrested, all men.
Imbonerakure, police officers, administrative agents and other people not far from members of the ruling CNDD-FDD party are singled out as the alleged perpetrators of most of these human rights violations and murders.
