This bulletin presents the human rights situation in Burundi during the week of October 27 to November 3, 2025. In this report, the Iteka League also examines the political, security, judicial, governance, economic, and humanitarian context. It also analyzes illustrative cases of violations of civil and political rights, as well as economic, social, and cultural rights.
The human rights violations observed and documented by the Iteka League are as follows for this period: at least 5 people killed, all found deceased, 3 people abducted, 1 victim of rape who is a minor under 18 years old, and 1 person tortured.
Among the victims are 3 deceased bodies of 1 girl and 2 women; the body of a newborn; and 3 members of the CNDD-FDD were abducted.
Imbonerakure of the ruling CNDD-FDD party, agents of the SNR, police officers, and administrative officials are accused of being the main alleged perpetrators of these human rights violations. Read more
